Modern day (1991 - now)
In 1993, farmers earned the right to own their land. This meant that collectivized farming in its Soviet form ceased to exist. The collective farms became known as corporate farms. Farmers there were then able to work for a profit instead of working for the government. In the early 2000's, peasant farms started to become popular. By 2005, individual peasant farms produced 59% of the crops on 20% of the land meaning they surpassed corporate farms.
A peasant farm is shown to the right and below. As seen, the homes are surrounded by plots of land, growing different crops.

Since then, agricultural production and exports have increased including those in the meat industry.
